Today we started learning a new game called 11,111.
It involves multiples of ten.
It is a little like the game 'go fish'.  The first person to make 11,111 is the winner!
We are estimating the number of animals that are in the jar.  We took out a set of ten at a time and Mrs Culling allowed us to change our estimates.  Things that helped us estimate were: taking out groups of ten, seeing what fraction had been removed or was left in the jar, looking at the layers of animals and multiplying, knowing that the container that the animals are usually in has a total of 75 animals and comparing the animals to the marbles we estimated last week.

Some people are on track to have 2000 points in the next few weeks, some need to get busy!
