Counting in twos

Finding 1/2 of a number.  Half of 12 is 6.

We discovered a pattern when we were counting in twos.  Can you see it?

Using the pegboards to make patterns to 10.
10+0=10      9+1=10     8+2=10

Our last ALiM session for Term Three!

Amelia is writing a word problem that uses double digit multiplication.  What strategy will her partner chose to use to solve it?

Brooke is doing her 'fact facts'.  This is where you have to multiply the two cards together.

Hands clear! Georgia how on earth have you lined up your dice?

Jess reads her five digit number in the 'rock and roll' game.

Amelia locates various decimal numbers on a number line.  Here her number line goes from 1 to 1.1

Why is there a chocolate fish beside you Georgia?
"Because I am today's e-ako champion.

Today was the last day of term, but at ALiM we still had maths fun! We learned new strategies of figuring things out! We learnt strategies such as trebling and thirding, place value, tidy numbers and repeated addition. Those are just a FEW of the many strategies we learned today. WE WON THE SUMDOG COMPETITION!  Congratulations Amy on coming third! Here are some awesome photos of us we took today :)

Today we have been using cards to read numbers in the billions and practice our times tables. Who knew that you can do maths with cards.

We've also been playing a game called connect four but maths version as you can see we're pretty scux at it ;)
